In my years in seminary there was a professor who, when you passed him in the hallway, would ask: Are you in the Word? We knew what he meant. It is one thing to study God's Word; it is another to be in His Word. My desire is to get you in the Word; and, in so doing God will change your life.

We will approach the Bible from a non-denominational perspective and allow the writers to speak for themselves. We will read the Bible as we would read any piece of literature, in a plain, normal, literal fashion. In doing so, we will let the authors tell us if their words are to be taken literally or allegorically.

You will learn what tools are available for a scholarly understanding of God's Word. We will use English, Hebrew, and Greek Bibles in our research, and I will teach you how to incorporate the original languages in your examination of Scripture..
